Joined the firm: 2002
Qualified: 1998 – MRICS
Partner since: 2003
After a short service commission in the cavalry, Tim joined Grosvenor in 1991. He qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1998, joined M-JS in 2002, and was quickly made up to partner the following year.
Tim jointly heads the residential valuation department with Prosper, and carries out professional valuation work for taxation, rent review, matrimonial and dispute purposes. He has particular expertise in all matters relating to Leasehold Reform, but it is his attention to detail along with a strict interpretation of the statutory legislation that provide him with the greatest negotiating leverage. Tim particularly enjoys the complex cases.
Tim frequently advises clients on the Bedford, Cadogan, Church Commissioners, Crown, Day, Grosvenor, Howard de Walden, Ilchester, Phillimore, Portman, and Wellcome estates, as well as tenants of other large property companies such as the Freshwater Group and Grainger Trust. He has acted as an expert witness many times in front of tribunals.
Tim is also a trustee of the Campden Charities in Kensington.
